Installment #31 - Site Trackers & Website Analyzers

Do you have a MySpace page? Or do you have a commercial website? Or do you just have a website or a blog for your personal reasons? If so, surely you are curious about how many visitors you get! Sometimes you need to know in order to see if your website efforts are worth it. Sometimes you simply want to know how popular you and your website really are!

In either case, there are counters available online. Several of these services are free and some are paid. You may already be using a "hit counter" to determine your number of visitors' views. If you do already have one on your page, you better check it out. The same way they track your visitors, a lot of them track YOU too. The famous tracking cookies! The annoying little boogers that weigh your PC down and slow you down to a crawl. Be careful.

Of the 20 I checked on, 11 were okay to use. Here are my results:

BAD:
  • histats.com
  • statcounter.com
  • addfreestats.com
  • extremetracking.com
  • cqcounter.com
  • statsmachine.com
  • eztrackz.com
  • tamingthebeast.net
  • dynamicsitestats.com
GOOD:
Have a nice day anyway!
